The 1861 census lists his birthplace as Quidhampton - but this is in a long series of dittos so I don't trust it. I've looked up the Barford St Martin record and found a John Francis Baptised Jan 11th 1807 son of William and Martha Francis. I need to check the Quidhampton/fugglestone records.

Birth	Dad's original records have place of birth as Barford St Martin, Quidhampton or Westbury, Wiltshire. The 1861 census lists his birthplace as Quidhampton - but this is in a long series of dittos so I don't trust it.
