Note | Death of Mr Glading Much regret was felt in Cove on Tuesday, when the news was received of the death of Mr. J. J. Glading, of Victoria Road, Farnborough. Mr. Glading, who was 48 years of age, had been ill for some time and died from complications following appendicitis. He had for many years done a great deal of work for the Church in Cove and had been actively associated with St. Christopher's Church almost since the time it was opened. He acted as choirmaster and also conducted the boys' class. The greatest sympathy will be felt for his widow, three daughters and two sons. At a meeting of the Church Council on Monday evening, the Vicar, referring to Mr. Glading's death, said the parish had lost a good worker and a real Christian. The members stood in silence, and passed a resolution of sympathy with the widow and family. [This is the transcript of a report appearing in the Aldershot News. Mr Glading died on Monday, 26 September 1927. There is simple a dedication on the font cover in St Christopher's with the years 1918 - 1927.] |
Note | John Joseph met one of his sisters at a funeral and at her suggestion applied to the Royal Aircraft Factory at Farnborough where he worked until his death. |
